I am very disappointed to read that you think Julian Assange has been charged with rape. He has been accused of failure to use a condom during consensual sex. Yes… Sweden has such a law. It is old and obscure, and they never use it… unless a powerful ally desperately needs someone in custody apparently. Your mistake might lead people to assume that Assange is a rapist, and that is very irresponsible on your part.

I am quite surprised that you don’t recognize any value in the leaked documents. Ask yourself what the value of these cables are to journalists around the world who are working against government secrecy to get the truth out to people. To make is easier for you, I randomly select one story that came out yesterday…

When you say that you “don’t like that he (Assange) has been blase about how the leaks have truly, put some lives at risk”, you are reiterating a conservative talking point. There has been much made of this issue in the right wing press, ever since the Afghan war leaks in fact. However, not one single instance of retribution against someone whose name was inappropriately exposed in the leaks has been cited. Wikileaks also offered all materials to be published to the United States for the purpose of vetting them for sensitive names.

After reading your article “Right wing secretly loves Assange”, I think it would be fair to conclude that you don’t believe opinion columnists need to have a relationship with facts.

It seems to me that you are hired as one of the token “liberals” for Sun Media, but Sun Media ain’t liberal so apparently, you ain’t writing a liberal perspective. Sure you can open your article by saying that conservatives have “tiny black hearts”, but then you go on to advance a very conservative viewpoint.
