Mature13 asks: I’m 13 and I lie about my age online because I like older men. I guess the reason why they believe me is that I’ve always been mature for my age. I can honestly say that I’ve been in love before, and I still love the few older guys I was with, but it’s just weird to like someone my own age now. But, there is a guy that’s 15, and he knows I’m 13. I can honestly say that I love him. I don’t know if he really loves me though? I mean, yes I can tell that he really really likes me but is it love? I don’t know. Help?
Ideabong says: Jeeezuzzz… my instincts tell me not to go anywhere near this… but anyway… here goes. The best thing to do is to send you straight to your parents with this. However, it occurs to me that a great many parents in this world really suck. If you have parents that are 
capable of communicating with you, and providing some guidance, you are lucky. Stop reading this and go have a chat with them ASAP. If not, then, first of all, I would like to point out to you that you can put yourself in danger when you interact with adults online as though you are an adult… because you`re not, and I think it is unfortunate that you want to be. You will be an adult for almost your whole life, and even if you don’t blow your childhood, you will spend a lot of time trying to figure out how to recapture the magic of that time. Take my word for that. I know that they are putting crazy hormones in everything you are likely to be eating, and you might have hit puberty at the age of 7 because of it, but still… you only get one shot at being a kid, and our society provides the luxury that a lot don’t, in that you get to be a kid until 18. Secondly, please consider the danger you are putting your victim in. Your deception could turn the person whose attention you are seeking into the worst kind of criminal, or at the very least, the worst kind of loser. At the age of 13, you cannot possibly have anything of a romantic nature to offer an adult, except grief and misery, so please take that fact into account. You probably don’t intend it this way, but what you are doing is absolutely cruel. Now about this 15 year old… 2 years isn`t a bad spread, but why do you need this to be love? You should look at this as an opportunity to enjoy someone’s company that you like, during a time in both of your lives that you should be learning about yourselves. If it is a positive situation, you will come out of it with greater self-awareness, and some useful experience of a growth nature. Be a kid, and enjoy it, or I’m afraid you will be looking back with regret. Also, until you are 18, don`t talk to strangers, and don`t talk to bongs either.
Worried asks: Did Obama destroy any chance the Democrats had in November with his flip flopping on the mosque at ground zero?
Ideabong says: the Democrats are going to get destroyed in November, but it isn’t because of the mosque thing. It is because the liberal base is going to be skipping this election due to the extreme Obama-related disappointment they are experiencing over this “Change” they thought they could believe in thing. Obama, in the worst act of betrayal in the history of modern democracy, was elected as a reformer, and merely continued the policies of the worst president in history. By apparently stumbling into this mosque at ground zero kerfuffle, Obama has given himself some nice cover. Now when the Dems get shredded in November, Obama’s handlers can claim it was because their man was championing the constitution, and freedom of religion,… not because he is continuing Bush’s wars, continuing Bush’s plan to enrich the banks using the public purse, allowing Bush’s buddies in big oil to ruin the Gulf of Mexico, preventing real health care reform, and preventing real Wall Street reform… just like Bush would have done. When Obama, whose election was paid for by the same interests that paid for the Bush victories, loses control of congress, he will be in a better position to continue the Bush agenda, because he will get to work with a Republican majority. It is really hard for him to explain why he doesn’t honour his campaign promises while the Dems have control of both the house and the senate. He has to pretend to reform healthcare while he in fact shovels piles of tax payers money at big health insurance companies. He has to pretend to straighten out the vampires on Wall Street while he in fact does exactly what they want him to do. He has to pretend to kick BP’s ass while he lets them use millions of gallons of toxic chemicals to sink tens of millions of barrels of toxic oil to the bottom of the gulf where it can never be cleaned up, because it is cheaper to do that than actually cleaning if off the surface. These are all tough things to blow past even the dumbest liberal voter. He would be glad to have some Republican scapegoats to help him keep liberals in line while he serves the Republican agenda. When he runs for re-election, he will blame the Republicans for the lack of “Change”, and he will run on the same platform again. And he will win again because the Republicans are going to throw up some really demented candidate against him, or Sarah Palin will run as a Tea Party candidate to siphon off some of the craziest Republican vote, thereby allowing Obama to coast to an easy victory. Liberals will hold their nose and vote for him again, because the alternative will be apocalyptic. Note: please no more political questions, because they kill my buzz. Not as bad as that first question I guess… but holay…
