Polly Discusses Blind Disciple Reunion

The rumours have been abounding for years. Fans have been clamouring for it. Solvent cornered Polly and grilled him about the possibility of a Blind Disciple reunion show…

Solvent: So there is a rumour that a Blind Disciple reunion is in the works.

Polly: I’d love to do a Blind Disciple reunion show.

S: Tell us about this Trevor Butler character.

P: Trevor was a very interesting character. He liked to self-destruct on many occasions, but very talented. The guy could scream, he could sing, he had a way of bringing people out to the show…

S: Do you think he was the illegitimate child of a blues artist of some sort? Would that explain the Sterling-Trevor blues jams that covered up for Poon once in a while?

P: Yes. Every time we played a show, if there was a meltdown on stage, which usually had something to do with Poon’s guitar malfunctioning or Poon freaking out, Sterling would just play the drums, and Trevor would sing weird blues jams or Jewel covers or whatever until we got sorted out.

S: Did they ever have any of those famous jams worked out in advance? Or was it their personalities and chemistry that created those jams?

P:  It was definitely their personalities. They never jammed too much. Getting rehearsals with those guys was sometimes a painstaking process.

S: So, the question on the tip of everyone’s brain at this time is: will Poon do this reunion show.

P:  We’ve been bugging him for years to do this, because me, Sterling, and Butler are down with it. I don’t know what it is, but he will not do it.

S: Let me get this straight. Sterling is game?

P: Yep. Sterling’s game.

S: Trevor Butler?

P: Trevor Butler is down.

S: Polly?

P: I’m there.

S: The only problem is Poon.

P: Poon is the only problem.

S: Do you think we should start a Poon fan club to exert pressure on him.

P: Ya I think we should. We could use different media. We could use facebook and make a “Poon Should Do A Reunion Show With Blind Disciple Group”.

S: OK we have the next phase of our plan. Also, if we report Poon missing we could get him on the side of milk cartons. That might help. Blind Disciple is missing a guitarist.

P: I know where he is though.

S: Where?

P: Callendar.

S: OK so fans can go right out to Callendar and find Poon and tell him he is needed for a reunion show. Now, does anyone remember the songs?

P: Uh… that would be another problem. It’s been 10 years.

S: I bet Sterling would remember the songs. I’ve actually heard him singing Blind Disciple songs while he works. Something about mucous membranes …

P: I know a guy who has recordings of Blind Disciple. If we could get our hands on those, we could re-learn our songs again. I can remembr parts of songs and a few full songs, but there has been a lot of booze between that time and this time…

S: OK let’s go forth and work on making this Blind Disciple reunion show happen…
